Henry Onwuachu Announces Campaign for Mayor of Oshawa
Campaign Announcement
Henry Onwuachu has announced his candidacy for mayor of Oshawa in the 2026 municipal election. The City’s registered-candidate list records his nomination filing on June 17, 2026.
A business owner, project-management professional and community leader, Henry is entering the race on a platform of responsible financial management, safer neighbourhoods, properly managed growth, improved infrastructure, economic development and transparent government.
“I am running because I believe Oshawa needs practical leadership that listens, takes responsibility and delivers measurable results,” Henry said.
“Residents are facing pressures involving affordability, housing, community safety, traffic and infrastructure. These challenges require cooperation, disciplined management and a mayor who is accessible to the entire community.”
Henry said his campaign will focus on detailed and achievable municipal policies rather than unrealistic promises.
“No mayor can solve every challenge alone. Effective leadership means bringing council, municipal staff, residents, Durham Region, other governments and community partners together around clear objectives.”
“I am ready to listen, ready to work and ready to earn the trust of Oshawa residents.”
The municipal election will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026.
